Gerald O. Wilson

Gerald Wilson is the inaugural Director of Entrepreneurship at the University of Illinois. In this role he’s responsible for leading the strategy and vision for a cohesive, cross-campus culture of entrepreneurship. A two-time alumnus of Illinois (Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, MBA) Gerald was president and CEO of Autonomic Materials, Inc. (AMI) before starting in his role at U. of I. in 2023. AMI, an advanced materials company based in Champaign, IL, commercialized technology developed at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and is a graduate of the EnterpriseWorks incubator in Research Park.
